Privacy policy
Effective October 3, 2026. Porch is operated by Celna LLC. This policy covers the Porch iPhone app, App Clip, website, and related game services.
Information we collect and why
- Accounts: account and guest identifiers, sign-in email addresses, and your chosen name, icon, and color help identify you, sign you in, and connect you with your games. Apple or Google handles authentication when you choose that option; Porch does not receive your provider password. Guest use creates an anonymous account identifier, which can still be associated with your games.
- Games: table names and settings, participation and join requests, game actions, rulings, results, chip balances, buy-ins, and settlement records support gameplay and history. Completed offline game history can sync to your account when internet access returns.
- Optional payment destinations: if you enter a payment method, username, phone number, or email address for settlement, Porch stores it with your game identity and may include it in game history. This helps players arrange payments outside Porch. Porch does not collect bank account numbers, payment-card details, or payment-provider passwords, and does not transfer money between players.
- Subscriptions: Apple processes purchases. Porch uses transaction identifiers, purchase history, and subscription status to verify and provide hosting membership. Porch does not receive your payment-card details from Apple.
- Service and support information: our hosting and authentication providers process connection and operational information, such as IP addresses, request details, and authentication events, to deliver and protect the service and investigate failures. If you contact support, we receive the information you include and use it to respond and resolve your request.
Information on your device
Your profile photo stays on your device and is not uploaded to Porch's hosted game service or shared with other players. Local profile information and game history are stored on your device. Nearby games use local wireless connections; completed offline results can later sync to your account. Device permissions support the features you choose to use, such as scanning an invitation or connecting to nearby players.
How information is shared
Game information is shared with the host and other participants so the table can function. Your name, icon, color, game activity, and optional payment destinations can be visible in join requests, games, and retained game history. A host's payment destinations can also be visible to people using a valid table invitation before their join request is approved. Only enter information you are comfortable sharing with those people.
When you choose a payment handoff, the destination app or service receives information needed for that action. For example, a Venmo handoff can include the recipient, amount, and a note containing the game title; other handoffs can open a payment profile or a message addressed to the supplied contact. That service's own terms and privacy policy apply. A settlement confirmation in Porch is a player-entered record, not independent proof that money moved.
Porch uses Supabase for hosted accounts, authentication, game data, and membership verification, and Cloudflare for website delivery. Apple processes subscriptions, and Apple or Google processes the sign-in method you select. These providers process information needed to provide their services. Their policies are available from Supabase, Cloudflare, Apple, and Google. Providers may process information outside your country.
We may disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate abuse, or protect the security and rights of the service. Porch does not sell personal information or use advertising or cross-app tracking SDKs.
Retention and deletion
Account and game records are retained to provide account access, membership verification, and game history. There is no fixed automatic deletion period for completed game history. An invitation or table expiring does not mean its stored records have been erased. Operational logs, backup copies, and support correspondence are not automatically erased by account deletion. Provider retention periods vary; records needed for legal obligations or resolving disputes may need to be retained longer.
Signed-in users can delete their Porch account from account settings. This deletes the hosted account, rooms it owns, and its associated account records. It does not erase every record held by other players: shared game records, historical snapshots, and other participants' copies may retain information about your participation, including payment destinations previously shared. Account deletion also leaves local profile information and game history on your device.
Uninstalling Porch does not delete hosted records or automatically delete anonymous guest records. To request deletion or help identifying guest data, contact [email protected]. We may need information to verify that a request concerns your data. Account deletion does not cancel an Apple subscription; manage or cancel it separately in Apple's subscription settings.
Your choices and privacy requests
You can leave optional profile and payment information blank and control device permissions in Settings. Joining a game does not require a paid membership. You can contact [email protected] to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information or ask about its use. Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have additional rights, such as portability, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent where relevant, or a complaint to a data protection authority. We will handle requests as required by applicable law, including any applicable verification requirements and exceptions.
Age requirement
Porch is intended for adults aged 21 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 21. If you believe someone under 21 has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action. Your game may have a higher legal age requirement; see the terms.
Security
We use technical safeguards, including access controls and encrypted connections to hosted services, to protect information. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Keep your device, sign-in account, and table invitations secure. If a breach requires notice under applicable law, we will provide that notice.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as Porch changes. The effective date identifies the current version. We will provide additional notice or obtain consent when required by law. For privacy questions, email [email protected] or visit support.
